PRISCA
Planning for the upcoming PRISCA event is progressing well. Liam and Anna oulined how they are using Club Runner to plan and communicate with schools. The event is expected to attract approximately 250 people and will be held at the West Ashfield Leagues Club on Monday, 16 November.
A number of schools have already submitted nominations, with 10 schools currently participating.
Members were asked to consider:
- Raffle prizes and potential sponsors.
- Businesses that may be interested in advertising or supporting the event.
- A suitable charity to receive funds raised on the night.
There was discussion about selecting a charity with a connection to children and families, preferably a local organisation. Suggestions included organisations supporting children's health, special-needs education, music programs and families affected by domestic violence. The possibility of linking the fundraising theme with guest speaker Jack Hughes' involvement with local schools and music was also raised.
Social Evening.
pp Sana organised Sahara Restaurant on Wed 21st October. We had a good attendance and every one had a great time .

St. Merkorious Charity
Dear Rotary Members and Friends,
I’m pleased to share that the Rotary Club of Burwood is partnering with St. Merkorious Charity to run our first Breakfast Food Appeal to support local school students facing financial hardship.
St. Merkorious is an established food-relief charity with the experience and facilities to turn community donations into practical assistance for people in need. Through this partnership, we hope to help provide breakfast essentials to students who might otherwise go without.
We need your help!
The appeal will operate outside the Woolworths Burwood entrance from Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, daily from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.
Volunteers will hand out the attached appeal flyer to Woolworths customers, explain the project, and encourage shoppers to buy an extra breakfast item for donation. Even a few hours of your time would be greatly appreciated.
If you can assist, please contact me by email at fred@walkerstrategies.com.au or on 0420 978 214.
Thank you for supporting Rotary Club of Burwood and helping us make a difference in the lives of local students and families.
Kind regards,
Fred Walker
Treasurer
Rotary Club of Burwood
