Message from President Hugo
Well, here we are! The return of Hugo.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support over the past few weeks and a special congratulations and happy birthday to Past President John Kane.
This year will be one of growth, action and celebrating what makes Burwood Rotary Club great: its people. I am extremely honoured to once again be the club’s President and I look forward to working with you all.
If you haven’t joined the WhatsApp group yet, please reach out to me. It is a great way for us to all stay connected and share updates about the club.
Finally, if you have a project you would like the club to work on, please don’t hesitate to draw up a little proposal and flick it over to me! I am open to all ideas and importantly open to letting your passions to give back to the community flourish.
This will be an exciting year for our Club and I hope to see you on Monday.
Hugo

Crossing Borders for Community: A Day of Service in Burwood by Perseus Luna
As a member of the Rotary Club of Antipolo City in the Philippines serving as the President-Elect / Vice President, I have always believed that the heart of Rotary is its ability to connect people across oceans. Today, January 23, 2026, I had the privilege of seeing this global connection in action during my vacation to Australia.
I was honored to be invited by the Rotary Club of Burwood to celebrate and support a significant local milestone: the Australian Citizenship Ceremony. This event, held in partnership with the Burwood Council, welcomed new citizens into the community, a moment filled with hope, pride, and a deep sense of belonging.
