District Governor Regna (Rajan) and Bharathi, Councillor Sukirti from Burwood Council
and Althea Mackenzie from WAGEC (Women’s and Girls Emergency Centre), Fellows and
Partners.

First of all, I would like to thank President Dennise for the excellent work she did in the past year and it is indeed a shame that she couldn’t be here to celebrate her year.

Secondly, I would like to thank the members of Burwood Rotary in electing me as your
President for 2025-2026.

It’s been 21 years since I was Club President which was 2004-2005.
It was also Rotary’s 100 th Anniversary and own Lloyd Roever was District Governor.

 

Amongst my aims for this year are:

 To increase our membership by a minimum of 3 during the year but hopefully more.
We really need to expand the membership of our Club.

 I’d like to continue and increase our support for The Rotary Foundation, Rotary’s
own charity.

 To extend our work in the community, including our B-B-Q’s, especially with
Burwood Council. Being involved with Clean Up Australia Day, assisting the student
collectors on Red Shield Day.  Working and supporting the community organizations in our area.
Supporting the Burwood Police Command. We had a really informative night with
Commander Christine and tour of the station.

 Assisting youth with the Blaine and Pickett Awards from our 50 th Anniversary Trust
and the Keith Sanders Fund. Continue our support for RYLA, RYPEN, NYSF.

 Finally, I’ve always held the opinion that FELLOWSHIP is important to our Club.
That we get together more socially not just attend meetings and doing B-B-Q’s.

Also, I would like to bring the weekends away back. We had started them many
years ago after we realized what enjoyment we had together when we attended
District Conferences that were held outside Sydney. But, we have not had them in 
the last ten years. It’s too late for Christmas in July, but there are other weekends or
events we could do.

Also, to hold the ANZAC Day Breakfast, perhaps a car rally. Also we used to enjoy
the Rotary Race Day.

Of course, I will take onboard suggestions from the Board and members.

 

I am extremely thankful, that most of your incoming Board Directors are continuing in their positions that they held in 2024-2025.

(Even though he is overseas, with the beauty of modern technology, he is still able
