It is with some sadness that we have had to postpone the upcoming RYLA program - that was scheduled for 3rd to the 9th January. And this includes the celebratory final-day Bar-B-Que that you may have been invited to attend.

While the RYLA Team has not only monitored the COVID environment, they had also installed extra measures, including mandatory vaccinations and pre-testing on all participants. This is on top of their terrific preparation for this year’s program – preparation that would have made RYLA this year an assured success.

However with an abundance of care, we have decided, together with the RYLA Team, that the risks have become too great. While current Public Health Orders would allow us to proceed, we believe this postponement is in the best interest of everyone involved.

We are hopeful that the RYLA program can be rescheduled for later in 2022, but we do not have further information at this time. And while the participants and Rotarians directly involved in this program have been sent this news, if you know of anyone involved, feel free to share this information.
Also, I’d like to express appreciation to our New Generations Director, Margaret Noonan and our RYLA Chair, Ben MacNevin, for the leadership they have exercised in preparing for this year’s RYLA and helping us come to this difficult decision.

My Regards,
Jeremy
