Minutes from the previous meeting - 31 july 2023
President Hugo opened the meeting at 6.20pm with the Rotary Affirmation.

Presidents Report:
President Hugo welcomed our guest Rob Browne to the Club's meeting and thanked all members for a successful club assembly.
Thank you to Walter for his advice and help regarding Rotary.
A reminder of the Sandakan Barbeque on Sunday 6 August.
Alf to bring the barbeque trailer and meet at 9am at the park.
President Hugo and Burwood Council agreed to an price of $1,750 for the event.
President Hugo told the club that he was talking to Concord Rotary about restarting the debate nights they used to hold and was also in conversation with Strathfield Rotary to do a trivia night.
President Hugo also announced that the District Governor, Tonia would visit the club along with Drummoyne Rotary Club in a joint event.
Secretary Report
Peter Moore ran through emails recieved by the club and Rotary Down Under.
Fellowship
Anna has made inquiries to restaurants for a social event for the club but will be away for the next month. She will confirm a location but had scouted a few in the local area at a cost of around $65pp for dinner.
New Generations
Patricia, Anna and Rob agreed to work together to get PRISCA up and running. President Hugo had contacted Liam James and Anna Hoyle regarding PRISCA but with no response. The club agreed that they will get it off the ground should they not come back to us.
International
No international update but Dennise stated that new badges for the club were coming and that PP John was sorting out new shirts for the club.
Raffle
Raffle was $70 with Peter to bank the Money
Membership
John Mansour spoke about club activity and how all fellows needed to find and nominate new members.

Now governance committee
governance must be done correctly so the club does the right things for government and rotary
liaise with vic so comply with government rules
New constitution is coming and not much different and up to date with Corporation Act
There is a governance check list
Bank account General and service accounts must be separate, not joint
Set fees to cover costs District fees cover insurance and and some costs can come out of Service account if necessary.
If you raise more than $150000 you must have a charitable approval from ASIC
Get committees organised
Director identification number - Rotarians don't need a number for Rotary
Election of Board identify members
AGM must be held before the end of Dec and ratify the Board members \o good just announcing at Change over - Makes for better transitions
Regionalism Pilot is coming build membership and reduce costs
districts will dissolve and become communities
assistant governor's will disappear and become community leaders
it is in a pilot and they are flexible and happy to change if the pilot don't work
what works and what doesn't
memberships can be flexible some happy to attend regularly while others r volunteer on ad hoc basis
Finally rotary membership is flexible and some join and volunteer and some don't

there will be a regional chair and regional commitee
