We had Pride of Workmanship last week and Pres John thanked Dennise for conducting the presentations.
John thanked the Senior Rotarians as well as the enthusiasm of our new members
Thanked everyone for supporting the Club and Rotary.
Pres John presented Certificates of Appreciation to PP Peter Moore, PP Sana Kamalesan, PP Keith Weeding and Rob Whitney.
Pres John was disappointed he was not able to attend PDG Lloyd Roever's funeral. We have lost a stalwart of the Club and Australian Rotary. John remembers the help he gave him when he first was President. Lloyd invited him to his office in his factory. He ultimately sold to concentrate on his family, travel and to Rotary. We will invite Christine back to Rotary as she feels very comfortable with us. Thank you Lloyd
Pres John introduced Hugo Robinson. Hugo will be more than capable and will introduce Rotary to a wide audience. Hugo has accepted that role.
John passed the Chains of Office and the President's Badge to Hugo,
Hugo thanked John and the outgoing Board. Considering the events in the last six months, community organisations don’t work without people making them work.
Hugo met us at Feed the Homeless in Burwood Park. He turned up at Rotary and met us and realised what we do for the Community. He felt at home with the Burwood Rotarians. He wanted to give back to the community.
Condolences to family of Lloyd Roever who gave Hugo the advice “Don't stuff up”
He has a few new ideas. Thanked Dennise for helping him to think about the year ahead.
First thing is Sandarkin Memorial. We are running the BBQ for Burwood Council.
Wants to re skill the club about Rotary. What we can do to help the community. He wants to keep the old. District conference. Polio plus,
Want us to focus on Rotary community with BBQ's Sleep out for the homeless. He knows he is nor experienced in Rotary affairs but he learns quickly. He wants to focus on membership, wants to double the number of members, We need speakers, he wants to Letter Box the community and do more fund raising.
Thank you for the honour of taking this role and would love your support. He presented his new Board.
