Meeting opened at 630 by Pres John with Rotary affirmation.
Apologies: Fred Walker, Patricia, Hugo Robinson, Simon Fox,
Welcome Anne Marie Sanni and Angelica
Keith Weeding – Pride of Workmanship booked West’s Sports Club in Croydon.
Explained need to nominate those people deserving recognition. Currently have three nominations, would like ten nominations, also have Mayor John Faker, dg Jeremy Wright and a Rotary Peace scholar is speaking,
Rob Whitney and Schools
Sergeant Lloyd fined us.
Pres John introduced Anna Marie Sanni. Italian heritage with two siblings. Her older brother has a disability. She is married with three children, the youngest is 18. her husband is a motor mechanic. She became interested in disability She was originally in retail.
She has been at Eurella since 2000 and worked in all areas of the organisation. She enjoyed being a community worker and managed to wear many hats and do many jobs, She likes to go to the gym and exercise, she played netball up until this year. She loves to cook. Her older son in an electrician, middle son is in media management
She has done lots of fund raising doing Girls night in and Breakfasts and morning teas. She has a great support network and loves her job. Now lives in Concord, and loves the area and loves coffee in the morning.
They run Eurella as a business after NDIS came in. If they had no funding they can’t operate properly. A few weeks ago had the Liberal Minister come through as well as Bill Shorten. Biggest program currently is a business service supported by employment and NDIS payments. They do lots of things like shrink wrapping for pharmaceutical companies, and COVID tests kits. They run residential share homes and they support them. Currently 50 staff and 30 supported employees through the NDIS.
Eurella originally was a school for disability but now operate to provide services to disabled and some mental health and intellectual disabilities. They provide services based on the goals of the supported staff, who in turn can be supported by support staff. COVID was a challenge as they had to close down so it was very difficult. There are plenty of competitors an they have to compete against able companies. Will be a good idea to have a meeting at heir facilities now located at Auburn. No recent open day, but will try to have one again and they are planning a trivia night
Thanked by Pres John ,

Meeting closed at 750. Raffle won by Alfonso.

Message from President John
Hi Fellows
Please take the time to read DG Jeremy's email re Goals and successes created by Rotary Clubs in our District In our own humble way ,I believe that our Club has performed exceptionally well ,because of YOU
I believe we should nominate Burwood for our Districts, Club of the Year.
Fred s initiative , Inner West Early Bird Café ,was a wonderful example of wanting to help those less fortunate in our Community
And with the help of Sam ,Alf ,Janet Weeding and many others ,showed what can be achieved ,the IWEBC , closure wasn’t a result of ours
Membership
Inducting five new members presently and another two before the end of our Rotary year is a strong indication of the genuine vitality and commitment. From you ,the members of Burwood Rotary ,and a sign of the positive future that lies ahead for us
We also have another two membership applications due very shortly .I believe we can reach 50 members within the next three years. This will test our resolve ,but with real support and mentoring ,this can be achieved .All we have to do is ask people to join us.
Anzac Day Breakfast
Again ,yet another example of our passion to assist and support our International Community ,Days For Girls .thankyou Faye and Sam .
Our year commenced in the midst of Covid with Zoom meetings and progressed to two home meetings, thank you Fuad and Lourice , Keith and Janet
2022
Our Changeover /Christmas Dinner was a pivotal turning point, I believe in the rejuvenation of our Club. We had 100% attendance,(members and Partners) and a number of guests in our new meeting place, Coro 88
I’m very proud to be a Burwood Rotarian. We achieve a lot from a small and growing membership, and I’m grateful and humbled by your support of me
But more importantly, of Burwood Rotary.
Please pass this email on to your partners, because they have continued to support you and our Club. Their efforts are invaluable.
Thank you
John
