PP Tony Clark passed away this week. Details regarding funeral arrangements in Spoke. . PP John and PP Keith had memories of Tony's time and active involvement in our Club.

Greek migrated at age 12 with his family of 5 boys. It was 48 days by boat His father was here two years earlier before he sent for them to come. He went to school to learn English. He met his wife when she was 8 and he was 12. He has four children - 3 girls and a boy. Only Paul is married.
He has spent 22 years in Burwood. Introduced by Garry Michael and joined Rotary His girls did Rotary programs including Interact at Meridan His wife has diabetes and so happy to raise funds with Fifi. He has been fund raising all his life in the Greek community.
Pre Covid brought all his children back home from overseas and they never went back
Paul married in Jan and now he is a a grandfather to a baby girl , He is still working as has three girls to eventually marry off. Comes from a Greek Peloponnes region in the South of Greece, .
Going back to Greece in July and intends to build a weekender on his parents property. If he registers his marriage, his Son Paul can be drafted in Greece in the event of a conflict. The Greek economy is getting better but it is in hugh dept. His mother passed away last month. His Father lived to age 97
Greek dowry explained. His Father youngest of 6, left hone at 13 and at 15 went somewhere else, so he didn't it to happen to his children so he moved to Australasia, Every one migrated,

DIABETES ALIVE.
Thankyou and Fundraiser November 26th
This is organised by Fifi Hazzouri to assist and raise funds for children with Type 1 Diabetes
Burwood Rotary has supported Fifi and raised funds in conjunction with other Rotary Clubs and Variety to purchase Type 1 Insulin pumps for Children
In total approximately $300,000 has been raised ,providing 30 pumps to children in real need, and the need is endless
