From our meeting on Dec 5th 2022
Acting Pres John opened the meeting at 6.20 with the Rotary Affirmation.

Presidents Report: Prisca night was well organised by Liam and Anna, Food was the usual Burwood RSL standard. We may look at West’s Leagues Club and what they can offer us.
Room was good and the parents good, the children were excited and the program was excellent. Guest Speaker Casey spoke very well and her address was excellent. Deputy Mayor assisted in the presentation.
Diabetes Alive, Sam reported Fifi held her thank you night. It turned out to be a big fund raiser with $6.5k so once they get RC Burwood money they can give out another pump. Central Coast Club got a 25 thousand grant from American Rotary for Ukraine and donated some money. They were given money for Ukrainian refugees. $300 per head, handed out at the Ukraine church at Strathfield
Fashion Parade Function.
Last Saturday attendance was not as good as we anticipated, but it was a good night. The raffle tickets $650.00
Fashion parade was good and the clothes were good. All sales gave 10 per cent for Rotary. They did sell some clothes. The sell liquidated stock online. The Pizza was good. Would have been better with more Club Participation. The timing was a difficult time of the year, Churlya's business also sponsored.
Christmas party at West’s sports club at 19th smorgasbord. Please wear Christmas t shirt and Kris Kringle. There is a round robin
Rob Whitney RYLA no response for RYLA Rob spoke to district and its a bit late to get anyone from our club at this stage. Anthony Lin is interested and John will contact him.
NYSF is on and we are sending three students. Money has been acknowledged as accepted,
Guest speakers: Next year M5. Stroke Presentation. Peter Hamer has a few presentations.
Walter and Tim encouraged us to support Marilie's fund raising.

Marilie. Thank you to the club for helping to raise the money. She is leaving for the Philippines and will be wearing the Rotary T-shirts. Will meet the International Clubs proudly representing the Rotary Club of Burwood .

International The balance of $600 was sent to Bacong-bacong Elementary School in Marinduque for their Initial School Donation along with another $200 Raffle Prize from PP Walter Bock for their Christmas fun party fun!

New Generations Rob Whitney
RYLA 2023
Anthony Lin who was the Club's sponsored nominee for this year's RYLA
seminar (which had to be cancelled) has been offered a place at the January
2023 camp.
Anthony is undertaking a double degree in Mechatronic Engineering and International Studies at UTS and hopes to have a career in mechatronics,
focusing on robotics.
Although he has had leadership experience at school, university and in the
various sporting activities he has been involved with, he hopes participation in RYLA will improve his social and communication skills as well his leadership skills.
NYSF 2022
The 2022 HSC results are out and the Club extends its congratulations to our
NYSF 2022 attendees Sora Beerbar and Marina Ruan from PLC Croydon. Both young women are included in the "Top All-Rounders" list. This list celebrates the students who scored 90 or above in 10 or more units ( 5 subjects ). Marina was placed 4th in her Japanese course.
