Patricia Abraham. CEO Eurella.
She has been CEO for four years. She didn't know it existed prior to her going there. Best kept secret and will be 70 years old next year. They have a proud history as they support people with disability from age five to eighty years old. Whole of life support. They provide accommodation. They are a NDIS registered provider. They purchase services, provide jobs at Auburn, provide accommodation group homes, therapy, children programs, adult programs and support the families.
She was introduced to Rotary through Eurella.
It can be very isolating with a disability and for their families. They care for their children with some up to fifty or sixty and still living at home with their family. Eurella provide love and connection to the communities.
They have an up coming Trivia night.
NDIS does not provide enough, only 6.5% to cover overheads. They have a wonderful team. Patricia loves what she does, and with Anna support the clients.
Intellectually disability disproportionally disadvantages someone. With work, with access to health care,
They advocate to increase working hours before their pension is affected.
It breaks her heart to see intellectually disadvantaged people living on the streets in this and south west Sydney,
Through advocacy and their Board they are trying to set up a housing fund to address this crisis. They are , not waiting for government assistance. They are reaching out to super funds, banks, philanthropists. Looking to provide housing, to help domestic violence victims and first nation people. She has made approaches to government, Bill Shorten the disability Minister, and to try to bring it to State government as well as a big scale solution. The will endeavour to create a community and not a ghetto. They are working with Burwood and Strathfield councils. They think their unique model is what may work.

Miriam Scott apologies from last meeting as she was away.
She grew up in Philippines. When she was studying there fifty years ago. Went to school bare footed. It was a very poor area with no school supplies
The school only accept grade one. The next school is seven kms away, so she had to transport to next school, had to walk there and back with no shoes. She had to go home for lunch, ran fast and stayed on the grass so as to not cut her feet. She worked as a domestic helper so she could support her study, so that is why she wants to support that school,
Her aim is have sufficient class room for that school so the kids don’t have to walk seven kms, so slowly building class rooms, she was recognised by local government for her donations so now they have up to grade six level. With her donations they extended the roof. Its better but not really great so need a proper class room. Now she is Rotarian she is coordinating things with a local Rotary club in the Philippines's She went to the school and one of the Rotarians is an engineer. The idea is to build a multi purpose building
Local club to coordinate with Burwood Rotary Club. Will contact pres Fred to communicate directly. She wants to do some fund raising,
Suggestions included contact companies to try and get old computers, maybe try and transfer in a container, could approach schools for old computers, maybe Kings School as have got up to 100 computers from them in the past. Maybe 10 computers with the idea to set up a computer lab

Report on Cebu City & Marinduque Philippines where we are looking to raise funds in February 2023 for repairs for the Liloan National High School (Secondary Public School) Cebu City & Bacong-bacong Elementary school (Marinduque) that suffered from the recent Typhoon Odette. Rotary Club of Marinduque North Philippines’ Genuine Service president John Pelaez IPP and Secretary Mary Rose Sotta PP, International Service Director Nilda Jamilla PP, Comunity Service Director Arlene Espino PN and Salvador Montalban also co-witnessed by Bacong-bacong fellow advisers/teachers this week held in Marinduque Philippines.

DG Joint Transfer Meeting
Eurella after a hiatus of 2 years is hosting a fun filled Trivia Night on Saturday 19th November at Concord Bowling Club. I have attached a Flyer for more information.
The Trivia Night is a great opportunity for the Community to come together and enjoy a social night whilst raising funds to support our Eurella Cooking Collective Fundraising Appeal.
Eurella Cooking Collective is our newest initiative seeking to expand our cooking, hospitality, and social enterprise programs. These programs are designed to enhance interest and a love for cooking and to equip people with disability with employable skills across the hospitality and foodservice industries.
Once established, The Eurella Cooking Collective aims to continue Eurella’s commitment to bridging employment gaps for people with disability, foster accessible workplaces and forge social connections with other local organisations and businesses support and community.
To support the Eurella Cooking Collective initiative in the coming months, we aim to raise $50, 000 that will be used towards renovating and updating the Eurella Links to create a commercial grade kitchen that is purpose designed and fully equipped to deliver inspirational and high-quality hospitality, cooking, catering, and social enterprise programs.
There are many ways that you can support us to achieve our goal. Any support is greatly appreciated. Support could be through a financial donation towards our appeal or as a sponsor for our Trivia Night. Other ways include donation of an item, service, or gift voucher that we could use as part of the raffle and silent auction during the evening.
