Pres John noted email from Vas who has moved to Adelaide and published in Spoke. Vas would still like to receive correspondence from RC Burwood. ,
Rob Whitney reported we had had an application from a fellow looking for help to go to Cambridge. Spoken to Burwood girls today and they're all back in action there and they're interested in RYPEN and Science Experience and the MUNA information. .
Sam Helou Anzac Breakfast is going ahead. Any money raised may go to Days for Girls. Inner west Early Bird cafe. Sam noted that it will be a longer time period before those we may help will know hat we are there and he is willing to continue for the for seeable future. There was a long discussion re the future of cafe.
Patricia Abraham suggested we can circulate information around the Local boarding houses. It takes time to get trust and than we may get more regulars,
DG Wright says the original Earle Bird Cafe started in Sept 2019 and took many weeks to get past single figures. We need trust and word to get around. It was the general felling that we continue for the time being. ,
Renga Rajan from RC Granville started a partnership with the Chinese community and multi cultural community and they see us and abit shy to get the donations of food from us but they are building their presence slowly.
Pres John welcomes DG Jeremy for coming as we have inductions and he was more than happy to come along. He noted what is happening in the district and promoted the District Conference where there are many good speakers on the programme.
He welcomed the new members Marilie Bomediano and Patricia Abraham for induction on International Woman's Day. Welcome to Rotary. Acknowledged we are on Aboriginal land, welcome to Partners . Rotary has a flood appeal and District is involved. Any support should go through RAWCS. They are on the ground in the flood area,
In Afghanistan, eight of the Polio vaccination team were ambushed and killed. They were not Taliban but a fringe group. See my Rotary website which has an area to raise money
Ukraine- two clubs are working to raise money since Crimea was taken over, so we are raising money already. There is a dinner to raise funds for Ukraine,
Also a local group in Israel to help Palestinians getting Heath care. Helping them get across the borders to get health care. The group is finding pathways to peace, In Canterbury Town Hall presentation on resolving International War, as an example- England vs Ireland can use the same parameters to apply to Israel.
Dinner on Saturday for International Women’s Day to acknowledge women in Rotary.
Renga's Granville club has raised $38k in grants and they will do a Workshop on how to raise money through Rotary Grants. Please come to district conference. Many great speakers.
Fred has arranged for Ranjev to speak to us regarding raising grants
Alex Malubag - District Rotaract representative gave an overview of Rotaract which helps young people to volunteer and to gaining leadership skills. In our district there are five clubs. From this area and many are joining o make friends and from there volunteer in the community,
Get help from the district community. Burwood Club has ten member but six have to leave the country due to visa restrictions. They are considering merging with Strathfield, to make friends and maintain the club. Not the best option but regions may be more sustainable. They can be supported by more than one rotary club. They still meeting at Burwood RSL and often meet online. They have a have social presence. Burwood Rotary can help with voluntary activities and they still want to get involved.

SAR Fined everyone. PP Tim fined the Spoke Editor for not detecting spelling mistakes he deliberately left in last weeks meeting notes as Tim is looking to take over the position of Editor.
